A perfect glowing skin is a desire of every woman. Irrespective of your age or profession, it is very important to have a clear and glowing skin. Our skin is very fragile which is often exposed to harmful chemicals and dust every day.
There are number of factors that make a skin dull and dry. These factors include pollution, stressful lifestyle, and lack of sleep, hectic daily routine, harmful sun rays, smoking and drinking alcohol. We cannot restrict all these factors to not affect our skin, but one thing that we can surely do is to protect our skin from the harmful effects of these.
Aging of skin is a natural process. We cannot stop or hold it but we can preserve the glow of the skin by taking care of it and following these simple 7 tips.
1. Your skin is what you eat
Follow a healthy diet and include fresh fruits, greens and food products rich in proteins and vitamins. A diet rich in Vitamin C and low in sugar and fats helps to have a glowing and radiant skin.
Avoid eating too much of spicy and fermented food, citrus fruits, fried food and salts.
2. Adequate sleep is necessary
Proper sleep is very essential to have a healthy skin. One should take at least 8 hours sleep every night. Lack of sleep may result in bags under eyes. Always wash your face and moisturize it before going to bed.
3. Let your skin breathe
Never go to sleep with your make up put on. Make sure to remove the makeup from your skin before you go to bed. Leaving your face full with makeup will prevent the skin from breathing and the pores may also get clogged, resulting in blackheads and blemishes.
To clean your skin and remove the makeup products properly, damp a cotton pad with olive oil and gently massage it on your face. It will help the face to get rid of dirt and makeup. Also, exfoliating your skin once or twice a week is also important. It helps to get rid of the dead skin cells, leaving a smooth, brighter and glowing skin.
4. Keep your skin hydrated
Keeping skin hydrated is important for a glowing skin. Make sure that you drink at least three to four litres of water daily.
You can also drink cucumber infused alkaline water. Including fresh fruits like watermelon, papaya, peaches along with fresh green leafy vegetables will also help you to have a healthy and glowing skin as they are naturally hydrating.
5. Use natural oils
Make a habit of including natural ingredients like coconut oil and olive oil in your beauty regime. Using a small amount of these oils as a moisturiser on your face or on drier areas will help you get a glowing skin.
These oils are untreated by chemicals and hydrate the skin without making the skin look greasy.
6. Avoid hot showers
Always use lukewarm water for taking shower and hot water often strips your skin and makes it dry and stretchy. This results in appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face in long run.
7. Healthy habits
Increased stress results in a dull and an oily skin due to production of stress hormones like cortisol. Take out some time for yourself and invest it in exercise, yoga and meditation.
Healthy skin is directly related to blood circulation. So, an increased blood circulation helps you to have a clear and glowing skin naturally.
Yoga poses can help you to increase blood circulation of your face, thereby, nourishing your cells and boosting production of collagens.
Do not forget to include some facial exercises to strengthen your jaw line and facial muscles and make your skin firm.
